Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape snug but not tight and following along your bra line. When measuring yourself, be sure to stand up straight and try not to engage your ribcage. We recommend taking a deep breath and reading the final measurement once your chest has settled.
Waist: Your natural waistline is often higher than what most people realize. It is where your waist naturally creases when you bend side to side and tends to be about an inch above the belly button and below the end of your ribcage (but remember everyone’s body is different). Always be sure you are holding the tape measure perfectly horizontal and again we recommend taking a nice deep breath from your diaphragm to be sure you aren’t holding the tape too tight or loose.
Hips: Stand with your feet together, and measure around the widest part of your hips and rear. This should be across the apex of your rear and just above the pubic bone. Again be sure your tape measure is parallel to the floor and that it is grazing your body so it’s not too loose or tight.
Getting proper measurements is the key to making the bridesmaid journey smooth, stress-free, and totally enjoyable for everyone.
